Unit 8 Optimal Well-Being:

In my opinion the Subtle mind and Visualization exercise are the most beneficial. The subtle mind exercise can foster my mental fitness, by allowing me focus on my breathing. I have notice that on the days I do this practice that I’m much more calmer and relaxed through out the day. I don’t let the small things frustrate me.

In the Visualization exercise I have been able to see things in a new light. There any many situations I used to have a negative out look on, I now have a positive out look. When I feel myself thinking negative I now think of my great happiness, that sense of wholeness, and I  continue to have that radiant of health and well-being.

  1. Roxanne,
I also thought that the Subtle mind and Visualization exercises were the most beneficial for me as well. I found that these two exercises really allowed me to relax and to feel calm. They allowed me to clear my mind and to focus on positive thoughts and emotions. Like you the Subtle mind exercise allowed me to focus on my breathing and I felt that this really helped me to clear my mind. I feel that the continual practice of these exercises is important for my health. I feel that these exercises really do help to reduce my stress and help me to demonstrate more positive behaviors, emotions, and thoughts. I think it is great that the Visualization exercise helps you to suppress your negative emotions and to bring forth the positive that we need in life to have wholeness, happiness, and well-being.

  2. I couldn't agree with you more, Roxanne! The Subtle Mind exercise is the only one that I really connected to, probably because it's similar to my regular practice. The others just seemed to have too much going on for me--talking, thinking, pondering questions, etc. The Subtle Mind really seems to alleviate the anxiety that my mind creates. I get that to a degree with visualization but only when what I'm visualizing is small in scope (a repeating pattern or an item).

It's wonderful that you've found a way to identify negative feelings and actively apply what we've learned to shift the negativity to positive thoughts!
