Mind-Body-Spirit Paradigm

Hello Everyone:

I really enjoyed the exercise. It was beneficial because it allowed me to find my inner peace and I was able to open up to helping others. It was very difficult at first to concentrate and focus on the exercise. Yes, I would recommend this to others, because this exercise allow you to feel compassion for those around you and you to find inner peace.

The concept of “mental workout” is to find inner peace, happiness, and wholeness and to develop the process of human flourishing. Research indicates some benefits of mental workout is finding inner peace, having a connection between mind, body, and spirit, to develop a calm-abiding consciousness and a unity consciousness. It also help to become more compassionate to others.  One way I can implement mental workouts to foster my psychological health is by being a peace with myself and the ones around me.

  1. Hi Roxanne,

Love your Blog! It is very tranquil in itself!! I agree with you, this exercise was beneficial. I too had a difficult time getting "into" it initially because it is so difficult to stop our mind from wandering to everything else that goes on in our day. This exercise could definitely help with stress in the future, I felt so much more relaxed after the fact! Have a great rest of the week!

  2. Hey Roxanne, I think the hardest part about this exercise, is just making yourself do it. I know for me, once I took the time to sit down and focus, I had very little trouble with the loving-kindness. Sometimes life can get crazy, and it is funny how we find excuses not to do the very things that can help us. I personally get lots of self fulfillment out of running and exercising, but when I am busy, I tend to shrug it off. This mental exercise is a great comparison, as we must make things a priority when it comes to health.
